Cuarto tomo de la saga de los hermanos Dollanganger,en este libro Bart el hijo de Cathy,hereda la inmesa riqueza de su abuela,y en su obsesión por ser como su abuelo reconstruye la mansión de Foxworth Hall que había sido incendiada,el libro comienza cuando Cathy y Chris regresan a la mansión a la espera del 25 aniversario de Bart,en el cual tomará posesión de la inmensa fortuna de los Foxworth,hasta esa edad el administrador de su fortuna será Chris.

Todo lo que podamos imaginar que sucede en este libro....sucede......personalmente me ha tenido atrapada porque no dejaban de suceder cosas y la manera de narrar de la autora hace que la lectura sea muy ágil.

Siendo como es la saga tan religiosa,no puedo dejar de ver el paralelismo claro que hay entre este volumen y el anterior con la historia de Caín y Abel,el hijo bueno,amoroso,que se sobrepone a todas las desgracias (Jory) y el que está lleno de maldad,venganza,ira y celos (Bart).

Si en el anterior volumen nos encontrábamos con la tétrica presencia del mayordomo de la casa de al lado,aquí no podíamos esperar menos,esta vez encarnado en el tio de Catherine y Chris,Joel Foxworth,el hermano de la madre de los chicos que supuestamente había muerto años atrás en un accidente.

Un hombre temeroso de Dios,que aplica las leyes del mismo bajo su propio criterio y que se encargará de aleccionar a Bart y a todo el que se deje sobre los pecados cometidos por su hermana y su sobrina,personaje oscuro,inquietante y que parece manejar los hilos de la personalidad de Bart,de por sí ya bastante frágil e inestable.

Misoginia,religión a raudales,desgracias y sorpresas tras sorpresas,celos e incluso me atrevería a decir que un claro complejo de Edipo,inundan las páginas de este libro,donde conoceremos el final de la historia de Cathy y Christopher.

Para muchos,estos libros sobraban y decían que sólo merecían la pena el primero y el último,para mí,todos me han explicado un poco mejor la historia y han hecho que entienda la evolución de los personajes mucho mejor,sin duda,si estaís en una maratón de la saga como yo,este como el resto,son imprescindibles.

Fourth book on the Dollangangers series,on this book Bart,Cathy´s son inherits his grandmothers great fortune,and on his obsession about becoming his grandfather rebuilts Foxworth Hall,which had been set on fire,the book starts off with Cathy and Chris going back to the mansion,to celebrate Bart´s 25th birthday,date when hell be finally the owner of the whole fortune,until he reached that age,Chris has been his
legal executor.

Anything we can imagine hapenning on this book....will happen....personally got me trapped from the beginning as there was always something hapenning,besides the way that the author narrates the story makes it really easy to read.

Being such a religious serie,cant help but to see the obvious paralelism on this,and the previous book about Abel and Cain,the good,sensitive,loving son who overcomes all problems (Jory) and the one filled with evilness,revenge,anger and jealousy (Bart).

If on the previous book we found the gloomy presence of the next doors butler,on this one we have a similar one,this time were talking about Catherine´s and Christian´s uncle,Joel Foxworth,their mothers brother who apparently had died years ago on an accident.

A God fearing man,who wont hesitate to apply Gods law under his own criteria,and who will make sure to instruct  Bart and whoever wants to listen to him about all the sins commited by his sister and niece in the past,dark character,disturbing who seems to manipulate Bart´s personality,already weak and unstable.

Misogyny,plenty of religion,misfortunes and surprises,jealousy and on my personal opinion even an obvious Oedipus Complex,overrun the pages of this book,where we will finally discover the end of Cathy´s and Christophers´s story.

To many readers,this book was not needed on the saga,and apparently the best and indispensables were the first and the last one ,to me,each and every one of them have helped me to understand a bit better the story and the evolution of the characteres,so if you are as me on a marathon through the serie this one as the rest is a must read.
